My bracelets are very durable and do not require a lot of attention.  I get my personal bracelets wet everyday.  The Cobra knot may feel like it has less tention after you get it wet, but once dry the tension will return.  My braided leather bracelets are also very durable, and do not seem to mind getting wet.  Once in while I will coat the leather with a leather conditioner.  My preference is the Apple Leather Care Product, which can be found online.
